cracked manifold

i pulled my turbos today and recigized some crack on the turbo manifold where it bolts to the block. does it need to be replaced or will it be ok, its on the top on the right side and on the bottom on the right side, they go all the way through, it not just cracked on the surface.

thanks

Well if the gasket will seal then you are O.K. I also had some large cracks on a old set of turbos but I used some acousty seal and the new gasket ans she sealed great. I would hane to get a better (close up) pic of the cracks to give a better answer. I since have upgraded to a better set of turbos:)

It's really a shame that something like this can't be prevented.

EVERY stock exhaust manifold does this...I have several on mine as well including around the wastegate door. A really poor design that's inexcusable. Mine seems to be holding up just fine but I'll be very glad when I can finally pull the twins off and slap on a single.

Mine was cracked when I replaced the turbos. The old turbos had to be junked, so I had to pay a core charge.

Garfinkle grinds down the edges all around and had them welded back with nicad rod ,then milled the surfaces flat . No new cracks in 20,ooo miles
