A Couple of Auto to Manual Questions
 

Does the manual drive shaft bolt up to the auto rear end?
Does the manual flywheel bolt up with no problems? (do you have to change conterweights)
Do you have to use a different starter?

Yes I read it more than once but I did not see definate answers to my questions. It was more of a this might that might let me check type deal.

If they were answered I did not catch it so all Im looking for is a yes or no for my 3 questions.

Manual driveshaft bolt up to auto rear end. NO ! Manual is driveshaft is shorter due to the manual diff. Manual differential has a thicker plate that mounts to the driveshaft. I was told it's thicker to handle more torque.
You need a manual starter to bolt right up to a manual tranny. The auto starter to manual tranny. NO! you will have to make some type of bracket. doesn't bolt up
Yes a manual flywheel will go on. No counterweight unless you have a light weight flywheel

I know the input shaft is different on each driveshaft but i didnt know the length was different. For my auto to manual I took my auto driveshaft to a drive line shop and told them to put a manual front input onto my existing driveshaft. They fabricated a stout new one with aftermarket front input shaft and rear pinion flange for about $100 and I still have the original auto driveshaft intact. No problems

Did you get an adaptor put on to hook it up to the auto rear end?

My car is down right now and I just want to get it working with a 5 speed. I want the simple way and then I can change other stuff later.

Ok so starter is different.
Ok so are you saying for regular flywheel you just take off the counterweight and bolt up the flywheel in place of that?
Drive shaft is different I know that but you said from what youve heard it wont fit the rearend.
Im looking for real answer does it bolt up if no what do I have to change. Looking for specific parts.

when you say regular flywheel , you mean a manual flywheel. I believe they don't have a counterweight. Don't know what you mean by take the counterweight off.

As of driveshaft, i can only tell you the way i did it.
manual driveshaft to manual rearend.
new 9.5 lb flywheel with new ACT s/s clutch. Everything bolted up. I used manual starter. I had to rebuild the slave cylinder($25) any parts store. manaul ECU with auto wiring harness. i used manual guage cluster,short shifter.

Once and for all the Auto has a driveplate not a Flywheel... im sick of hearing that... If anyone needs and help on the conversion freakin IM me... im so sick of these threads
