could unplugging the OMP have caused it to start leaking?

I started premixing a couple of months ago and I simply just unplugged the OMP. Now the OMP is leaking at its paper gasket. This just started a couple of days ago. Could unplugging it be related to it leaking? The OMP is still a mystery to me as to how it behaves when unplugged.

well scratch that, I just put in another OMP and im still getting a leak. Is there anything around the OMP that can leak a hefty amount?

the oil line return is directly below the omp. Any chance its coming from there?

The omp has a rubber ring gasket that seals it to the block. The oil return line has a paper/flat gasket that it uses to seal itself.

I've got a block off plate for the return in that spot, I checked that as well with no problems. I also used a different rubber o-ring when I swapped OMPs.

Turbo oil return line?

Why would you unplug the omp? It will still spin but not have the electronic control. If you don't want it then just remove it and properly block it off.

Because if I ever needed its function again I could simply plug it back in. Wouldn't want to be stranded because I ran out of 2 stroke.

I found out the problem. The reason it started leaking in the first place was because the turbo decided to melt the OMP oil lines. It still passes oil through a tiny bit it seems. Not knowing this I put another pump on without the lines on it at all, thus the leak was still there.

So tomorrow I will be making a block off plate (durrrrr me).
