Could over filling the coolent cause it t leak when it had never leaked before?
I went to check my coolant level and it is like and inch or 2 above the Full symbol, and it is leaking right under the coolant tank. Could having to much cause it to leak? What are some things i should test? Thanks ~Luke |
Is it leaking under the overflow bottle? Passenger front side of the car. If so it is fine, it just builds up pressure and will spit out the excess once it gets to a certain level.

The coolant overflow bottle is a 2-piece. The neck is affixed to the bottle by a rubber tape gasket. Mine was leakin too, dry rotted actually.. I pulled it out and fixed it myself, or you can buy a new bottle.

Originally posted by Fritz Flynn Thats correct theres a small hole in the top that bleeds off any overflow in the overflow tank. Which I assume prevents pressure from building in the system cuz hot water expands quite a bit just another reason to switch to evans coolant. south. |
