Correct front and rear emblems?
I have a 92’ FD I believe R1, but what are the correct from and rear emblems? It came de-badged, and I’ve seen a few different emblems, all stating front/rear, but which one is period correct? There are 3 that I’ve been seeing, the regular Mazda emblem, efini emblem and the mascot emblem, thanks for any help! |

The correct emblem was the "toilet bowl" emblem, Mazda used that for a short time in the '90s. That was true in the US.
http://www.maltacarmarket.com/mcm/up...3f06864a06.jpg In Japan they had the inverted triangle Efini badge, in Japan it was sold as the "Efini RX-7". I believe that was a sub-brand Mazda was doing, similar to how Toyota makes Lexus. The Winged "M" badge was on the '99 and up RX-7's in Japan, they changed it to the Mazda RX-7 in Japan at that point. Dale |
Very useful information thank you! So next question, it’s an imported rhd from japan buuut has 99 spec front bumpe side skirts and tail lights, In your opinion should I use the toilet bowl lookin one or the Mazda M 🤔 |

What emblem you put on is really up to you. If it has the 99 exterior parts it may be worth going full 99 with the Winged M logos.
Of the 3 I prefer the Winged M, I think it's a sharp looking logo and it's also nice to have people realize the car is a Mazda. Dale |
That is a true statement, I may go that route. There’s no holes with the rear emblem right? Just the front? |
Not a direct shot but you can see my car has been debadged on the rear, and if there were holes I’m assuming/hoping they were welded and filled, so if there is pins can I just cut them off and use adhesive?https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d25aacf6a.jpeg |
I like the looks of the efini emblem. Those emblems fit in the same two holes as the original toilet-bowls on the front and rear S6 bumper covers. I also got the rear "efini" badge which just uses adhesive (doesn't use pins), but covered the two badge holes for it in the rear bumper cover.
And I think it's fun when a conversation get's going by people asking "What kind of car is that?" |
