Trevor...
What do your coolant temps hit when we are at 110+ degrees? This summer in Phoenix we had probably 20 days in July at 110+ ... I am buying an RX7, take delivery next week, and I am wondering the amount of precautions I am going to have to take. It will probably just end up being parked most of the summer (I have a daily driver). I also will track the car...I have been out there with every car I have owned...good thing they dont run in the summer! |
By the way Just a FACT: Every psi on your cap raises your boiling point by 2 degrees i believe it is.
In so cal area temps go anywhere from 85-100 F outside. My normal running temps are around 85-88 C during the day. And in traffic, hot as hell outside it goes up to 94C ive seen. If its not hot outside and theres traffic it goes up to around 90-92 C. In cold at night my temps are 83-85 C. ALL the time. My mods are: FMIC Koyo Radiator Stock thermostat AST removed and my front fender guards removed (in the wheel well) Water and water wetter and some coolant Future Plans: Skinny 10" fan for the intercooler Vented Hood Just to be safe, i already lost a motor to blown coolant seal, so i want to be extra careful. I really get freaked out when it hits 90C. If you guys have ever blown your motor to a coolant seal you might see from my point of view. Cause when it happens your temp rises and you freak out a little. and you freak out even more when it keeps going! BOOM HEADSHOT! |
