Cooling plate
 

the car already has the under cooling tray that extends up but nothing on top, so i made some today, could not make it go all the way accross because i didn't want ot unbolt it everytime i wanted to check a fues and didn't want to reroute the fan wire so here is what i came up with. Let me know what you think.

that looks like some great work and holly jeez that is a big turbo.

i have been thinking of ways to fabricate something like that for mine, too. maybe aluminum?... did it take long?

My Carbing cooling plate looks close to that, except there's a plate in the middle in front of the hood latch assembly, going all the way across and connects from plate to plate.

not really about 1hr total, just buy some soft galvanize(sp?) steel amd good cutters or make it out of cardboard first.

also post pictures of yours if you have it, it will give people ideas if they are thinking about making one themselves.

Mine is more shaped towards fitting w/ the stock air duct, which I don't use anymore. Also, I'm in the process of getting more aluminum to cover up my ugly intercooler duct. Should be a fun little project.

Nice! what did you use to cut it? yours look really profesional.

dont think the plates i made weight even 1/2 a pound, maybe 1/4 pound, i dont see any big deal in weigth savings here, i think it would make a bigger difference if i took a Sh*t.

The plate was sealed to the top of the radiator with a stip of foam. I also had foam striping on the sides of the radiator and underneath. Additional air air was ducted to the radiator under the front mount by spacing down the front lip and sealing the bottom of the radiator to the undertray.
