Which coolant sensor?
 

Does anyone know if the coolant sensor for the guage can cause limp mode? Also, which sensor is it (a part number would be AWESOME). If not, the coolant level sensor is also dead. Could that cause limp mode? Which sensor is that one.
Basically I am looking at an FD that appears to be in limp mode, and it's coolant level sensor is bad and the guage doesnt work. I want to replace the sensors and don't know which ones to get.
I would REALLY appreciate any help

Neither a faulty coolant level sensor or coolant temp sender for the dash gauge will cause the car to run in limp mode.

Do you have compression tests results for this car?

really? I thought the temp sender went through the ECU and I was told that could be limp mode. I dont have the comp results yet but belive I will get them before I buy an inexpenisve FD!

There are two temperature sensors:

1. Dash gauge (located on the rear iron)
2. ECU (located on the backside of the waterpump housing)

#2 can cause limp mode. #1 will not.

Any OEM equipment can be ordered through Ray at Malloy Mazda. His contact information is in the FAQ thread sticked at the top of this section.

What you need to do with this car is two things:

1. Compression test
2. Pull the ECU codes (if any)

If you can't pull the codes, try to force one to happen by pulling a connector you know will trigger a check engine light. If it still doesn't happen, then most likely the owner has removed the bulb for the check engine light so the potential buyer doesn't see any problems.
