coolant seals gone but..
dont know how bad my seals are ,but when u drain the oil are u able to see the water. sounds dumb I know but dont see any water in the oil but it does smell like coolant and oil is more dense than water so I should be able to see the water.am I correct, if so correct me if I'm wrong or I'm a total idiot.

its just like a fudge color to me. but I am losing light out here so I'll check it out in the morning

at least you don't hear the coolant pooring into the rotor housings when you turn the car on :wallbash:
have you noticed a difference in your coolant levels? and yeah, try the champagne test. |
Or the ever fun billowing smoke during start up is a good way to tell

Or you could just pull your spark plugs and rotate the engine backward, if there is coolant in the combustion chamber it will pour out the plug holes. Typically the inner coolant seals are the ones that fail.

When the coolant seals went on mine I could see/smell the coolant on the end of the plugs when I pulled them (like a wet browny substance to the tips), I could also smell the coolant coming out of the exhaust + my car couldnt run for more than 5 minutes without overheating.
Funny thing though as it wasnt loosing much coolant, well not that you'd notice anyway. Edit: Just seen a couple of your threads very nice car you have there! |

However, if you do have a coolant seal failure that is allowing coolant into the oil pan, then you are most likely adding extra pressurize to the oil system as well. You might be able to notice some higher oil pressures than normal. |
