Coolant leak on top of motor?!?

I was coming out of Wendy's today and saw a long river of coolant coming from underneath my car. Poured some water in and drove it home(2mi) and coolant light never came on and never rose in temp. I popped the hood and there is a puddle on top of the motor around the injectors. It is coolant and not gas, all the block offs are tight and not leaking(non-seq) and the coolant line coming fro mthe top of the filler neck is fine.....where else could it be coming from? Thanks in advance

Coolant line for the TB?

There is a coolant line that runs to the top/back of the throttle body......I'd check there first.

TB hardpipe?

I took off the UIM and never took a coolant line off of the TB...maybe it blew off or something...does anyone know where the line comes from?

There are two coolant lines on the TB....one in one out. One goes to the top of the motor, one goes to the back of the water neck. Now if your line went from the back of the water neck straight to the top of the motor, then your TB coolant hoses have been bypassed. Check your TB and see....you should have two large coolant size nipples on it, if you did not pull of either hose, then you have been bypassed.

There is no where else for coolant to leak from outside of the hose between the water neck and the top of the block if you have been bypassed....it's just one straight shot. Check your hose for cracks, splits, etc...check your clamp fittings to make sure they are tight as well.

Rear housing on the injector (passenger) side.

Agreed, check the TB coolant line in the front behind the alternator. This line is basically a 90 degree rubber hose that attaches to a hard pipe. It will split and leak. You usually can't see the split just by looking at it. Best thing to do is eliminate the whole mess with the TB bypass method.

Only coolant line I could see was the one right above the water thermosensor and it has been blocked off...I didn't take off any coolant lines from the TB either

Most people loop that line to the top of the block....check the nipple on the top of the rear rotor housing and see if it is also capped, if so, check and make sure that the cap/plug is not torn, ripped, etc....

If it was me, I would just loop those two together instead of having them both plugged.

The only other coolant line i could find is that one on the rear rotor housing and it had a small crack in it so I replaced it, but I don't see how that could put out all that coolant...any other places to look for?

turbo lines, heater hoses, coolant tank, etc. It's either a hose somewhere, the waterpump, overflow tank, ast, a coolant seal, or something else that I'm forgetting to mention.

back of the water pump to hard line under manifold. Take off the plastic pressure chamber in front of teh UIM and you will see it.

well fixed the block off on the rear housing and drove it all day and didn't leak...thanks for the help guys!
