controlling the boost controller......
 
got the greddy profec b spec 2. low boost is fine. spikes 11 and holds 10. on my high boost i cannot get it...it will spike like 14.5 and then drop to a low to mid 12psi. what setting is need to be increased/deacreased to get it to spike and hold 14ish psi????thanks.

33set 33 gain 31 set gain high boost

23set 25gain 29set gain low boost

i take it you dont have the manual?

GAIN:
This mode is used to adjust the boost consistency.
START BOOST:
This mode is used to adjust boost response.

You will have to play with them to get it just right. Each car is different.

i do have the manual. just looking for suggestions. plus its hard to watch the road, af gauge and boost gauge all at the same time :)

also the fact that my boost controller psi meter and my boost gauge are about 1 psi off from eachother makes it a little frustrating

evo2fd baby is right. If you don't have access to a rolling road, the only option is to play with settings (remembering use safe figures) until you achieve the best result. But nothing will match the results obtained from a rolling road.

I've got Apexi AVCR and since had my car back from the garage for replacing some vacum pipes, valves and a clutch they messed all my settings. I know had to adjust various duty cycles with different RPM's to avoid the boost spike during transition from 1st to 2nd turbo. Still not 100% perfect as I seem to get sudden spikes around 3900 RPM but I'm getting there as I have to mess with the numbers, drive hard and then re-adjust again. Once I got a setup I'm happy with I will take it for a rolling road for fine tunning.

I don't know about Greddy boost controllers, but the score of game basicelly is balance between boost level and duty cycle. Try to note the RPM's where you get the spike and if its always constant, just lower the duty cycle at these points.

ok start from scratch
1.Gain 10%

2.then from there slowly increase your "SET" value untill you get to or just under your desired boost level. It may feel a little laggy or slow to spool this (this feature is only to determine your peak boost)

3.Next you will slowly increase your "SET GAIN" value, (This will affect how fast the turbos spool) the key is to get this value as close as possible to your "SET" value while still preventing the boost from spiking.

I can't remember how the "GAIN" is SUPPOSED to be adjusted but you should hardly have to adjust it if at all.

But if you aren't able to reach the desired boost levels with gain at 10% then increase it and start over at step 2 again.

Make sure you set your warning light and limiter as a precaution.
also make sure there ARE NO PLASTIC CAPS still in the boost controle solenoid. ZERO!

And above all take your time and don't rush.

PS unless you are datalogging and can see the detailed results after each run DON"T do this by yourself. grab a friend. It is much easier and less nerve wrecking.

run 11% gain, 24% set and 6.6 set gain 10lbs on the money

that might work for you but like evo2fd said every car is different.
