Thats a beautiful car in every way. Congrats

Congrats pimpin!!!

I've been following the OneLap for a long time. It is nice to see an FD, or even a rotary, do well; it is about time.
Leave it up to Damian to succeed. Great work Damian, it must feel good to be ranked in that prestigious group. |

sounds like a lot of fun!! Congrats
|
Congratulations indeed! That is no small feat, not with any car let alone a capricious FD!
And the time it takes, as well as the cost.....wow! Good job...no, GREAT JOB, guys! :icon_tup: :icon_tup: |
congrats :)
|
congratulations, its allways good to see a fd do so well, good job. :smiley309

Just finishing that event is a big accomplishment. I takes a lot of fortitude... both of the car and drivers! They're probably STILL catching up on sleep.

But from a quick look at the OLOA site: In 1993 Ken Juran and John Schiefele ran an FD in the race, finishing 36th overall. In 1995, John Ames and Lindsey Wilson placed 9th overall in their '93 FD. 1996 - 14th overall - Jeff Littrell and Kevin Wyum 1997 - 9th overall - Cameron Worth and Motozo Fujikawa 1998 - 27th - Rick Potter and Steve Cole 1999 - 6th overall - Potter and Cole 2000 - 8th overall - Potter and George Samuels (1st in class - SSGT2) 2000 - 13th overall - Gregory Stasiowski and Dale Black 2001 - 4th overall - Potter and Samuels (1st in SSGT2) 2001 - 10th overall - Mark O'Dell and Bill Gratton (4th in SSGT2) 2001 - 28th overall - Stasiowski and Black 2002 - 6th overall - Stasiowski and Black (2nd in SSGT2) There are several others that I missed. So the RX-7 has a long history in OLOA. It's been missing from the lineup the past couple of years, but has done really well overall with more than half a dozen top ten finishes. -bill |
Congratulations guys! :)

Bravo!

2nd in class, excellent.

Damian, we are waiting for a comment. We are all very proud. The commitment that you guys made to do this, the money, the time............You guys kicked butt. I witnessed firsthand what you were up against at the Autobahn. Your competitors probably thought you were outmatched. You guys proved that a pair of worthy opponents, in a no longer thought of contemporary car, were worthy of respect. Hurry up and post a Vid.

thanks for all the support guys!!!!
i have been crammed with work and the NASA racing season since the one-lap so I have not had a chance to do a summary video yet, but its coming :-) |
BRAVO!!!! Great job!!!
|
I feel bad for them having such rotten luck with weather. They had a lot of wet tracks to contend with. In 96 only MIS was run in the wet and that was an infield section and part of the oval with no big scary walls at every turn. Oddly enough MIS in the wet was our best non drag racing finish of the event : ).
Anyone that's run the One Lap can also tell you that your first time out is quite the learning experience. Having a respectable finish on your first time out is impressive and these two had some pretty awesome finishes. The overall score was hurt by the wet tracks etc. and really doesn't do their results justice. Great job guys. Better luck on weather next time. Also keep in mind the level of competition changes quite a bit from year to year. Some years have some pretty heavy hitters while others are somewhat relaxed so it's really not fair to compare overall finishing position from year to year. |

A belated congratulations. (I don't usually look at the 3rd gen forum.) I know you had a good time...even when you were having a bad time. ;)
