Confirming tach fix
I'm in the process of fixing my tach using the following DIY
http://www.wrex-racing.com/docs/fd/Tach_Repair.pdf Is there anyway to check that the tach is working without hooking it back up to the vehicle? The reason I ask is I'm in the middle of a engine/single turbo swap, so the car wont be running for a bit. I'd like to finish this project and move on, but I haven't found a way confirm that the tach works without turning the car on. Thanks |
Not easily. You'd have to rig up something that simulates the tach pulse to make it move.
I'd just set it aside until you have a running car to test it. Dale |
Where have people been buying the replacement capacitors from?

Bump.
Still looking for capacitors. |
Looking at the picture I can decipher this, the black one looks like a radial electrolytic 1uf 50V cap. The other one looks like a .015uf 50v film cap. Read the numbers on the side and do some googling on capacitor codes. You'll figure it out :). Try Mouser or Digikey.
