Compression tests???

Is a compression test necessary (before I buy) for a ’95 FD with 45k miles and a few mods (intake, down pipe & exhaust, ecu,)? If so how can I find a rotary maintenance shop in my area?
Another question…I asked the guy to keep the car cold so I can see a cold start and the rpm’s didn’t shoot up to 3000 (car was in neutral) they were around 2000, is this due to the mods? Also, he didn’t have the performance ecu hooked up because he said he took it out to pass emissions…maybe this was the cause? So I’m going for another test flight today after work. Sorry so lengthy…thanks

One more question...Where else can I looked for 95's for sale...besides ebay and Autotrader?

What ECU is in the car? If its a PFC or haltech then there is no Accerlated warmup. But the PFC does warm the car up at about 2K rpm.

It is always worth it to have the compression check, maybe even have the coolant tested to detect emmissions there, which would indicated a bad coolant seal and a new engine on the horizon.

If you were to pass emissions on a bone stock FD. Is that some form of a sign (more or less) that your FD is still in good/fair condition?

if he had the car in gear, the RPMs won't shoot up. that's what i do to elminate the 3000rpm torcher warm up. I would definietly get a compressoin test, even if the motor has only 5000 miles i would get a comp test.

And i wouldn't say that a bone stock FD passing smog means it's good.

I would like to know this too, in PSI on bar please. What sort of range should we be looking at?
