cold restart problems 1993 twin turbo

After starting when cold, then turning off before engine warms up, engine will not restart. What fix should I look for?

do a search for "flooding" or "unflooding" - you'll find everything from letting it sit, to holding the accel all the way down, pulling plugs to dry them off and/or replacing them, WD 40 in the UIM nipple, ATF trick (auto transmission fluid) -

some people say if the car is stil lcold and you need to turn it off, hold it at 3,000 RPM then turn it off.

But. this problem never existed before --80,000miles. It started after front cover was removed and then resealed, and engine re-assembled.

Did you check for ECU codes?

How is the compression on the car?

If your in the habbit of doing this you need to find a solution that allows you to warm the car up completely before shutting it off. This is more true for high milage engines than it is for really low milage ones but the car tends to flood easily when this is done and can even pick up pieces of carbon on the apex seal. This is one of the things brought up in things not to do when owning a rotary engine. Highly recomended that you not crank the car up to pull it out of the garage and shut it off, say just to wash it. Your just asking for flooding or carbon issues.
