Cold engine compression test?

I tried to search but the function was down, something about a database problem. I'm looking into purchasing a J spec motor for convienence, and I'm aware that the motor needs to be warm, but how do you test a cold J spec motor to make sure the compression is reasonable? Is there anyway way to really indicate it? The reason why is the company I'm considering purchasing from (mainly because it's local to me and a friend recommended them although not for RE purposes) offers a 30 day exchange warranty and I'm not particularly interested in putting the motor in and firing it up just to check the compression of the motor.

Thanks,
Sam

Make sure both rotors are similar and the 3 faces on each rotor are similar.

Why is your user name "barcode"?

It's a little off the subject for this forum, but it's a bike frame from one of my favorite companies, that and I couldn't think of anything better.
