co and lambda high
hello
i just had my fd serviced and as it was put on the computer i found out that the co and lambda were high i had to replace the catalyst for the co to be ok but i dont know what to do for the lambda, will this cause me any troubles ? any suggestions? thanks con |
did you have it retested after replacing the cat? old worn out cats also can cause high hydrocarbons as well as high CO.
|
yes i have..still high, co went down
im thinking of a sensor... thanks con |
is the car modded or completely stock? is the HC high at idle or at 2500?
|
completely stock
the hc is on high idle about 2500-3000 rpm |
hmmm, well i would start by being sure all of the tune up stuff is taken care of like plugs and wires and O2 sensor. check codes and be sure the TPS is working properly and make sure there is no vacuum leaks either by visually inspecting it or using carb cleaner to isolate any leaks. lastly be sure the smog pump is operating properly, you could have a diverter valve failed or the electrical clutch on the pump may not be engaging.
