clutch slave cylinder?

hey guys i believe my clutch slave cylinder is out of alignment or it needs to be replaced. heres what happened i was driving my car on the highway and was doing a 4th gear run, then i slowed down proceeded to do a u-turn, thats when i noticed that my clutch was disengaging really slowly. i would release the clutch pedal but the clutch itself didnt disengage until about 2 seconds after the fact. at first i thought it was my clutch, but after about 3k rpms, it doesnt grab at all.... it just revs and the car doesnt go anywhere, i had a clutch slip on me really bad before but this feels completely different, and being that this is an act street/strip clutch i find it hard to believe that it has absolutely no gripping power whatsoever, btw because the way the car was running i did have to slip my clutch until i had boost then release it to get going. i got my ecu reflashed now so i dont have that problem but it wont go anywhere past 3k rpms.

the point of this post was to see if they usually go out and where it is located, im guessing somewhere around tranny just dont know exactly where?

Sounds more like the master cylinder to me. If the clutch hydraulics are old/original to the car, might be due to just replace the lot of them.

master cyclinder is under the cruise control box in the engine bay. clutch slave is located on the drivers side of the transmission above the starter.
