Clutch set up

I've been reading up different threads about clutches and the one says this, the other that.

My engine is being rebuild and I will install a fully new OEM gearbox when it goes back in.

I will be running a Judge Ito aggressive streetported engine with non seq twins and later something similar to a Gt35R setup. Shooting for 350-450hp.

My car is a weekend driver and occassionaly circuit racing. I t will see trafic on regular basis and basically i want a clutch similar to the stock one but that can hold the power.

I can buy an ACT 6 puck locally at reasoinable price but I have learned it's more of an on-off item and not really for city use.

Any info would be appreciated as well as flywheel options.

Many thanks
Neal

Thanks Mahjik, that was the thread I was following. but I'm quite reluctant because you US guys may understand 'trafic' and 'city driving differnetly than us Euro guys. US city's are 'blocks' where ours really don't.

Basically I want a clutch I can still slip slightly for easy driving and not some on/off clutchs that will make you bounce of your spot if you don't hit the right(high) rpms.

The ACT Street/Strip clutch will hold 402 ft/lbs of torque. That's your best bet for a streetable clutch. If your car will be making more torque, you'll need to look into a twin plate clutch for that streetable/OEM feel.

I recommend the ACT S/S clutch and staying with the stock flywheel. A lightweight flywheel makes the car more responsive and easier to downshift, but it makes driving in traffic a little tedious, especially on a ported motor.

Thanks for the info guys and the flywheel recommendation.
