Clutch pedal has no weight and gets stuck
Hi everyone,
My clutch pedal has absolutely no weight to it, what I mean is that it the clutch pedal goes down with no effort, the pedal also gets stuck down. Another weird thing is I have bleed the clutch but that did not do anything, and to add to that the clutch pedal doesn't actually push the fork from what I can tell. Not sure whats going on since my slave cylinder was functioning perfectly before my rebuild. Moe Greene |

Only a few things could be wrong:
Clutch master Clutch slave Leak in the line Very simple setup, but my money is on the slave 👌 |
same issue i had recently. ended up being the clutch master. i ordered an exedy replacement for ~40$ i think. it came with everything except a new gasket between the slave and firewall. look under your dash at your clutch pedal. the piston thats attached to the pedal and goes into the master might be wet on one end. thats how i found out mine had failed. not wet enough to drip but wet enough to show that it failed internally. seeing as how you say its not actually pushing the fork, its 99.99% the master. that means the pressure isnt making to the slave to actuate it and theres only 1 component in between them.

Usually when one goes out the other is not far behind. My slave went out when my car sat for a long while during the build. I recommend replacing both at the same time, they’re inexpensive and it’s cheap Insurance. I used centric parts for mine.

Yep, if one part of the clutch hydraulics goes out, replace everything - master, slave, and the line. It's worth getting a stainless braided line too.
The pedal itself just has a rod that goes into the back of the master cylinder and pushes it in. If that rod is there and going into the master you have a hydraulic problem. Also it doesn't necessarily have to be leaking fluid, I've seen master cylinders with an internal leak (internal bypass) where pushing the pedal down wouldn't generate any pressure. Dale |
Could also be an issue with the clutch fork or wedge collar.

Is it normal for the master to suddenly stop working?
