Clutch Pedal feel suddenly changes for the worse.

A few months ago I had the Clutch fork on my FD break. Recently I got around to replacing it. After the install the clutch was fairly easy to operate. Withing a days amount of driving it became very hard to push, yet sort mushy and the engagement is very abrupt. What could cause this to happen all of a sudden. The install went perfectly fine and the clutch even worked great for about a day. It still work but it feels horrible. The car is barely driveable. Let me know what you think. Car has a Spec Stage 2 clutch.

I'd recommend getting under the car and observe through the sight window while a buddy pushes the clutch pedal.

I had a leaking clutch oil line. Similiar symptoms. less and less responsive, abrupt engagement. But considering you have other elements surrounding this, anything is possible.

I was sitting ready to turn a left on a 4lane road. I revved the car (enough apparently) that when my clutch line completely lost it, i stumbled out into traffic. yay.

In this situation, just check for oil or have a friend check while you press.

Good luck bro

*edit* i have a spec stage 2 clutch as well. so im familiar with the response you should have

Clutch release bearing is rubbing on trans input shaft. Whats the best way to fix this. I imagine the trans is going to have to come back out. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Anyone at all run in to this issue or have a fix for it?

Are you sure it's rubbing? Sounds like something with the clutch fork. You're sure you securely bolted it down to the bellhousing?

I think its the SPEC stage 2... Buy an EXEDY Clutch :)

But seriously, I'm minutes away from SPEC clutch here in Alabama and I wouldn't not run spec. I've heard too many issues with them by local guys and also seen their clutches causing other parts fail. Also, they weren't too friendly about supporting the rotary community... actually, they don't support rotary communities. I've asked them first 3 years of DGRR to support the DGRR event, and without any luck.. and they are local! Put a bad taste in my mouth and I sold all the Spec clutches I had (2 of them). Also, Exedy clutch seems to have better fit and finish.
