Clutch Master & Slave Cylinder upgrade

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all , I was wondering if anyone has upgraded their clutch master / slavea cylinders and has them working together without problems. I have always fought with clutch problems with this car , I am now running an ORC 559 twin disc clutch WITH an OS Giken pull to push converter. I had this set up running and working well, but it always seems that either or both of these cylinder would begin to leak resulting in problems. I recently replaced both clutch discs , and re installed the gear box , now none of the gears engege with the motor running ! when I look through the inspection port , I see the throw out bearing moving , but only about 1/4" -1/2" travel , with this movement , the first disc and plate come loose but the others dont. I am now looking into just upgrading the master to a Wilwood 7/8" (that the v8 boys use) or 1" bore , but I cant find a slave that will work , the only possibility is one of those hydraulic throw out bearings , anyone use one in their stock box ?

I still have both stock units in my FD but they are new. My improvenments were the installation of the steel braided covered flexible line, and the stronger/newer clutch fork.

Thanks for your reply , I already checked Hinsion and saw that they use the 7/8" Willwood master , but the question is ,which of the Tilton slaves that I would need ? I already sent them (Tilton) an e mail , maybe they will respond , if not i'll call.

Well I guess I'll be the guinea pig.

the slave would depend on you clutch and trans setup. if you are using the fd trans the stock unit should be fine if you are using a clutch with the same diameter as stock. you should only need more pressure if the clutch surface area is smaller. If you are going to a different trans the slave would be based on the distance from your adapter plate to the pressure plate of the clutch. what setup are you using.

Im using an ORC 559 twin disc clutch with an OS giken pull to push converter on the stock box. I want to replace the converter and bearing assembly with a Quartermaster universal(adjustable) hydraulic throwout bearing.
