Clutch Installation

I just got a clutch kit in the mail and took it to a shop for installation. Its an ACT street/strip clutch kit. The shop is telling me that the package needs a pilot bearing seal, its a part that costs about 15 cents and it didnt come in there. Does anyone know the role of this part or what its purpose is or even if its needed in the Rx-7?

Thanks.

i was told over the phone by a few that the part isnt necessary but you CAN put the stock one on the new clutch, but its not a required part.... anyone else?

Don't skimp. I just did my clutch and changed the main seal (behind the flywheel...it was leaking) and the new pilot bearing with a new seal along with the throw-out bearing. Just get the part from the dealer. I imagine it helps to keep the pilot bearing greased up and clean. Think about all the organic clutch dust that comes off during a hard launch. Okay, just trust me on that one.
