Cluster issue..
so cant figure out what it might be but when im WOT the tach hits 6k then kinda sticks around there and jumps its no longer smooth.. but when il just increase speed moderately it will go past the 6k mark just fine. My fd has a jdm cluster could it be a issue with that?
also if anyone out there has a us cluster for sale let me know!!!! thanks in advance |
Could be a sensor issue or as you suspect a cluster issue. If your in NJ and want to save yourself the hunt have it checked out by IRP in metuchen.

Mine did that for little bit, then when WOT it would die along with the odometer and speedo. It got the point where the odo, speedo, and tach quit working. Took the cluster apart and saw that some of the diodes where fried and it looked like it wasn't the first time. Replacing all my gauges with aftermarket right now.

hmm interesting are you retro fitting them in to your existing gauge cluster or dash i should say ? if so any pics? im either going to do that or cough up a nice chunk of change for a us one..

Not my cluster but I'll be doing the very same thing just different colors.

They are not plug and play. They are just like wiring any other gauge though. I was considering getting a 99+ cluster to replace my broken one but then I though why not replace them with after market unit that are more accurate and show the proper mileage for about the same prices as the 99+ ones? So I went that route.
