Cleaning Headlights

The lenses on my headlights are starting to turn that ugly foggy yellowish color. Anyone have success removing and cleaning them out?

Windex worked for me.

On the inside? This isn't just on the outside of the lens, it looks like its on the inside.

it could be that they're just geting old... plastics tend to do that after a long while... the headlights on my mom's 88 mercedes turned all yellow inside too..

Z Zoom - No reason to be sorry, thanks for your help.

poor college student - I think thats what's happening om mine too, but I was wondering if there was something to do to reverse the effects. Probably not.

I thought the head lights were sealed. If not you could take them out and try using a bottle cleaner.

My friend who just installed some HID's in his car successfully cleaned the inside of his headlights by taking them off and baking them in the oven for a couple minutes at ~170 degrees (low heat). Then you can take them apart and clean the inside of the lens and the reflector. Now they're crystal clear!! He doesn't recommend using a heatgun cuz he says it's way too hot, so the best way is to slowly toast them in the oven. I'm gonna test this method tomorrow or the day after. I'll post my results once I'm done.
