Check this out. Need help please...
I'm about to purchase a 93 with a streetported new engine that has 3mm seals that has a ratio
of 85psi on the front and 60psi on the trailing rotor. Is this bad? Or just right? What about an air/fuel ratio of 14:1 ratio.....stoichiometric is 14.7:1? Please help me out. Thanx in advance |
I always thought it was supposed to be 9-9-9...
As for the A/F ratio...who knows? It depends on what all has been done to the car |
oops...im an ass....that 9-9-9 is for kg/cm or some metric stuff like that...
But if you use this little thing I found, it still looks like the compression is low |

how many miles are on the engine? if it has 0 miles compression might be low because of seals not seating yet but still not a good sign.

the engine has only 1,500 miles on it. He said that he did the break in process. The engine
has 3mm seals, and streetported. He said that the compression ratio should lower because of the 3mm seals. |
3mm seals don't seal as well but 60 PSI is barely running. that engine might be built incorrectly. it is VERY easy to screw up the engine when putting in 3mm apex seals. extreme caution needs to be used to do it right.... might want to call the shop who did it and ask them.
