changed to castrol 20w50 and.....

just changed to 20w50 and now in the morning when i start the car it stalls right away. i need to restart it again. it happens every morning. same thing for my friend who uses it. is the oil too thick for my engine or for my weather? its around 15-20 degree celsius up here.

Damn why would you need 20w 50 in canada. Stick with the 10w-30. You shouldnt use 20w-50 unless you'are in a hot climate.

Mazdatrix uses Castrol 20w-50...so thats what I use.

I agree with Street King, use 10w-30 or 5w-30 for your weather.

However, your car shouldn't stall. Maybe the oil line is clogged or something. Try going back to light weight oil now before you mess up the engine.

20W50 is WAY too thick for cold climates. You'll have a LOTS of dry starts and wear out vital parts. 10W30 or 10W40 is much better suited for colder climates. You should drain that thing and use a less thicker oil.

dont use 10w40 according to max....

I agree with everyone else, 20w50 is way to thick for cold climates and is only recommended to me during summer time where it is 90+ degrees
