champagne bubbles

I just checked my coolant and started the car up and noticed that tiny little bubbles are coming up, but not a lot just a few, does this mean my coolant seals are going? And how long do I have till my engine goes? This motor only has 27K miles on it and how is that possible?

Yep, that could be the O-rings. Watch the coolant levels and see if any coolant is getting consumed. Mileage isn't really a direct factor. Its more a question of if the car ever overheated at all. Even if the car overheated just once, it could warp them and a rebuild is the only way to fix it. From others, what I've noticed is that the problem just keeps getting worse and worse over time. :(

JspecFD is right. Actually what you did is one of the better ways to test if you have a coolant seal problem. It looks like you do. IMHO a quality aftermarket water temp gauge is very important and can easily save a motor. You may have over heated and never noticed. The stock gauge isn't worth the space it takes up.

Yeah, the aftermarket water temp guage is very important. I like mine anyways :D Sorry to hear about the motor though :(

I am not sure you should condem the engine yet.

I believe small bubbles are normal. It is when you see bigger bubbles, and frequent ones.

Also, how did you check this? Start the car, and open the T-stat housing?

yeah thanks for the replys, i checked the coolant and it is still full and when I started it again this morning and their was no bubbles or from what I could see, and there wasn't a lot of smoke, but i think it smelled like coolant or maybe water I dunno or wasn't to sure.
