Cermet coating Steel Apex Seals

I invite a discussion on cermet coating of apex seals. Has anyone attempted this? If the rotor housing can be cermet coated, why not the apex seals?

The rotor can be machined to accept these coated seals, or preferably the seals should be ground down by the layer of the coating to be applied, so that when the seal is coated it would return to the original, proper thickness.

edit: maybe this should be moved to the Rotary Performance forum.

You might be talking about JHB. They coat housings.
NRS makes 100% ceramic apex seals. They don't coat them over.
