CEL code 39 help please

I have the CEL code 39. http://www.k-rad.com/errcodes.html and http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/engine_codes.html says the code is for Releif 2 Solenoid valve open or short circuit. I have searched and can't seem to find any information about what needs checked, fixed or replaced? I have only had my 94 rx7 for a few weeks, and I first seen the CEL come on only within a couple of day of driving the car, I only do street driving and I drive it relatively easy most of the time. The CEL comes on after hard acceleration (full throttle) above around 5k rpms, then the light stays on until I turn off the car, if I immediately turn the car back on the CEL is no longer on.

I don't know anything about the Solenoid valves and I am hoping for some help, anyone else have this code and fix the problem? I have done a lot of reading so I have some knowledge of how the twin turbos work, and it appears the boost drops down to like 6 psi when the 2nd turbo kicks in, max boost is 10 or 11 (no bosst controller). The car has a downpipe, apexi catback, the intake and IC are stock.

Please help, any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much! :D

Get a factory service manual for your car. You can download one for free from www.iluvmyrx7.com. The section you want is Section F.

The relief #2 solenoid is part of the secondary air control system and is, unfortunately, buried under the UIM (upper intake manifold, or upper extension manifold in Mazda speak).

Thanks! I've never seen that site before, I'm glad I know it's there now. Hopefully I can change the part.

Good luck with the nest under there. If its your first time digging under the UIM Id read up before getting into it. Its pretty damn confusing, but once you do it a few times its not so bad. Make sure you have a vac. diagram.

Cgotto6, thanks for the advice. With everything I have done so far, I have spent many hours reading how to's and other info for each project, it's great to have so much information about the car. So far I've done the water temp gauge, a/f gauge, spring/shocks, toe links and trailing arms, fan mod yesterday and diff mount bushings today (the 4 top diff. bolts were very hard to get loose).
