Car wont' stop backfiring, lumpy idle, hesitation

It's another one of those case which the car was driving perfect yesterday and today I am having these issues. The car keeps backfiring whenever i am just cruise, in gear. When I shift to neutral, the popping stops. Also, it has terrible idle now and hesitates at random.

HELP!?

I just diagnosed a car today with similar issues. Turns out the engine bay harness that connects the starter, coils, etc has a few broken wire insulators to the coil harness. They were randomly shorting out causing all sorts of strange issues.

welcome to my world

could be a bad connection in the harness where it connects to the ecu. i had similar issues a while back since the ecu had been butchered with other connections. one day it would be fine and then an hour into my drive it would bog as soon as i put my foot on the gas. the next day it would be fine, sometimes not...? i was going insane (this is about a week after i got the car). the problem continued for about 2 weeks. once i realized it was the wiring, i tried moving around the wires behind my PFC until it made a difference but i found it impossible to trace. eventually i just physically twisted my PFC around at half throttle until i felt a difference (car would take off instead of bog down). eventually i found that squishing the wires behind the ECU and putting the kick panel cover back on was the only position it worked ok in.
