car wont start
hows it going i searched with no luck, please help me.
i swaped my single turbo motor into a new shell over the past week and im having trouble starting it. its getting fuel and air. spark is what im worried about. i have ngk 9s all around and they havent been drivin hard since the 16th of december. the plugs are brand new not even 100 miles on them. before i swaped teh motor the car started fine, now nothing. also the map sensor got disconnected. i believe i hooked it back up correctly but alittle iffy. thanks brandon |
the car will start with no map sensor just run like ass
|
nothing to do with the map sensor

Are you getting any power at all? Dash lights in the acc position, beeping for key in the ignition, ect.. Or does it crank but not fire?
|
sat morning im going to play with it alittle more...i dont have the interior in the car so i cant tell. ill have more info tomorrow, im going to swap different parts of the ignition. could or does anyone know the exact place to rehook the map sensor vacuum hose into the intake manifold.
thanks brandon |
Does it try to start or do you just hit the key and nothing happens?

Fuel system primed?
|
fuels primed, car has a weak spark. i pulled the manifold and didnt see anything obvious. after i try to start the car a weird almost bussing noise comes from tthe manifold...anyone know
thanks |
alright monday morning im openin up the harness to see if i have a loose or broken wire, also checking all coils. does anyone know what the noise could be...i noticed that when the key is in the ON postion after i try cranking the motor that weird noise comes form the manifold, im guessing its really coming from the coils.
|
how would i check the coils..i pulled them from under the manifold again today. everything looked fine just alittle dirty, tomorrow im swaping coils and spark plugs. also that hissing noise was coming from the manifold again after i cranked the engine and left the key in the ON position. any clues?
thanks brandon |
bad lower intake manifold gasket?
|
The sound your discribing sounds like the fuel system. You can verify that by jumpering the F/P pin to the GND in the diagnostic box, that turns on the fuel pump and you should hear the same noise you are talking about.
As for the coils, get a brand new plug and pop on one of the wires put the thread against a gounding point and check the amount of spark. Do the same to the plugs that's in the engine. If you are getting strong spark from the new one and weak spark on the old plugs, the old plugs are fouled. If they are both weak, you have a problem with either the wires, coils or ignitor. Check the other plugs in the same way. If you don't have good sprk on all 4 then it's mostly likely the ignitor, since that is common to all 4 plugs. Otherwise it could be your wires or coils. |
is there a right way to put the fuel lines onto the engine from the fpr and fuel lines. ill have to do check that tomorrow...yeah i already ordered new ngk bur9eqp plugs. i also have a spare set of coils that im goin to swap over.
thanks for the help so far |
I know this sounds stupid and obvious but is there a new battery in this new shell?
|
yes...but i use the jumper box on the battery also. i didnt play with the car today, tomorrow im puttin the new plugs in, checkin teh fuel return line and feed and make sure that i didnt cross them. i have a second set of coils that im going to try also. i hope i find the problem soon.
thanks again brandon |
double check ALL your fuses...
|
every day i go in there i do...
|
alright well thanks for all your help...i fix the problem, it was the BUR9EQP spark plugs, they were shot. swaped them and she started right up, also had to reverse fuel lines, but she runs beautiful, ill have pics up soon of her, thanks again
