car sounds raspy when the revs get closer to redline
 

My mechanic told me that its the turbos kicking at there maximum when my revs get closer to redline, Is that true I feel the car as it hits 6000 rpm the engine sounds raspy, feels like a rush of air or engine cutting out or something, anybody know?
