Car Skips At Full Acceleration
I was wondering if any one could tell me why my car wants to skip under hard acceleration at around 5-7k rpm. Any help is appreciated.

Check your plug and wires. Have you done any mods recently?

I just baught the car recently and the guy told me that it has a high volume fuel pump in it. Other mods are not motor related. It does seem to be missing something on the passenger side of the motor though. There is a bracket with nothing on it and the air box has a missing hose.

1. Don't drive the car hard anymore until you become more familiar with these cars and what has been done to yours.
2. Take some good pictures of the engine bay and underneath if possible. Post them up and let's see how stock your car really is. 3. What are the maintenance records? what do u mean skiP? you have ignition break up or your car is sliding around or you are getting wheel hop?

It sounds like it could be ignition break up. I had some break up in upper rpms and changing the plugs & wires cured it. I also noticed my igntion harness was crispy and the insulation was flaking off. I replaced it at the same time, but that could have been a culprit.

i had a similar prob to yours.... my prob? a check valve was backwards.

Missing hoses, empty bracket == sounds like airpump was removed.

first get some more info, what mods are done, what kind of engine, when were the perishables replaced? Also by skip what do you mean? Is wot accel "chunky" as opposed to a smooth and full accel to redline? If so check your plugs, if that doesnt work it might be your injectors. To further diagnose anything you need to get a mods list and a better description of the problem.
If you are close to rotorsports give them a call, they were the ones that rebuilt and ported my engine and have been pretty helpful. But from talking to them the other day it sounds like they are pretty busy, so if its something simple like plugs you might as well just do it yourself. |

I have engine break up on my car too, i changed to NGK plugs and wires but that didn't cure anything so i'm thinking you need to get a different ignition set up, thats what i am going to do on mine.

it's always best to take the car to a good rotary specialist if you have any doubts and are just getting into the game. otherwise you waste a lot of money on parts that you think might or might work but don't have the experience to be sure. or you blow an engine b/c you bought a car that wasn't properly modded to begin with.

Let's just hope it's not fuel cut you're hitting for whatever reason...
