car is having problems, please help

it started like 3 weeks ago. while driving sometimes the check engine light will come on randomly, and sometimes when it does come on (not all the time) the car starts getting a lot of hesitation and doesnt let me accelerate, but when i push my foot on the gas the boost gauge goes up to 0, it doesnt go above that though. sometimes the car comes back and is fine, and sometimes it stalls out. then when i try to turn the car back on after it stalls, it wont fire. it cranks, but it seems like its either fludded (smell a lot of gas) or its not getting any spark. it actually does this a lot, even if the car doesnt stall, like if i park the car and turn it off and go in a store for like 5-10 mins and come back out it wont start. it starts fine in the mornings after sitting for a while. ive recently changed the spark plugs, and the fuel filter, but havent changed the plug wires yet. does anyone have any ideas? please help
thanks,
Craig

1. Check to see what Codes are coming up.
2. Use Section F of the FSM to begin troubleshooting your problems.

How many miles are on the engine? Perhaps it would be best to get a compression check before delving too much further.

the car has 107k and about 26k on the rebuilt engine

I dont have the exact procedure, I did this awhile ago when I had my stock ECU. in the diagnostic port you need to jump 2 of the pins. I forget which ones. Anway, when you jumper them you can then turn the key to the on position, then off and back on. From that sequence you will get a series of flashes and pauses which are the engine codes.

You can do a search on "Engine Codes" and find the procedure, I just posted this to point you in the right direction.
