car hasnt been on for about a yaer what should i do before starting it
 

i bought a 3rd gen that wasnt turned on for about a year because the dude ripped the fuse harness when he hit a bump but got it replaced but the fuses needed to be checked but he didn't have any time to fix it so he sold me the car. any options or warnings

drain and replace fuel... check all lubes....spark plugs... dunno about anything beyond that

he didn't have time to check the fuses? That would make me very alarmed.....

Sounds like the guy did not know what he was doing with the wiring harness.

First of all, make sure it is hooked up correct. Then, at a minimum, pull the plugs and inject some Marvel Mystery oil or A/T Fluid in the holes and rotate the engine by hand. Make sure that you rotate the engine and put oil on each of the three chambers of each housing. Let it set for a day, then rotate it again. If you want to be anal retentive, make sure that you rotate the engine leaving each apex seal sit at the bottom of the engine for a day (6 different positions 3 apex x 2 rotors). This will help with making sure the apex seals have lubrication as well as reduce sticking.

Drain the fuel and replace it. I just removed the intake on my car that has had a blown engine and sat for about 1-2 years. The fuel came out from the intake fuel rail and it looked like light oil.

Change all fluids and filters, especially the fuel filter.

The starting problem, you might want to look at the harness to the starter to make sure it is connected. Also check all the ground wires.
