Car covers for your FD

What kind of car covers do you all have? Who makes them and do they stand up well to outdoor weather (im in san diego it barely rains and is nice and sunny most of the time, keep that in mind:p:) ? Im looking to buy one and wanted to get some actual user opinions on which ones they prefer :)

www.carcoverworld.com. Get the noah one. I've used it for almost 2 years now and it holds up great. Fits good too :).

Mazdatrix carries a very well-fitting "Block-it" cover. It's about as plush as you can get w/out going to a flannel cover.

i have the factory "light/summer" cover. It's a pretty soft flannel like material. It is breathable and keeps sun, leaves, small twigs and such off the car, however it does not block rain or pollen. The fit is perfect. I wonder how the heavy duty factory cover is?

I have the heavy duty factory cover (at least I think it is). It is fairly thick and blue, with a clear plastic license plate cut away.

I would not recommend it at all. It gets dirty easily. The first time you put it on your car when the car isn't completely clean it gets the inside of the cover dirty. Then any time you cover the car again and take it off, it leaves weave like spots on the car from it's construction. It is also very poor when it rains. It gets soaked and it doesn't help the car at all. It is good for blocking the sun, that is about it.

Oh, and the worst part is two occasions I didn't have it in the garage and had the cover on it, the neighborhood cats used it as a scratching post. Luckily it didn't penetrate the cover to the paint.

Have any of you had better luck with the fac cover?

I think I have the exact same one. :D

Well I spent 20 minutes on the search tool and the internet and apparently it doesn't exist. I dreamed it up. I have no idea what is sitting in my garage at home.

And no, not blueish grey. More of a bright bright blue.

Pretty much this color : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...472977901&rd=1

Sigh,

I have two car covers from California Car Cover for my Rx-7. I had primarily an outdoor cover, but I noticed that it left swirl marks in my paint from the occasional high winds we were getting. So I got a very soft indoor cover to go underneath.

I really like the soft cover I have, but the outdoor cover could use some improvement.

i have one from california car as well. i have also noticed it leaves some lines on the car. sounds like you solved the problem. i rarely put mine on, but have had it for over a year now and its in great shape. fits real good stock cars and pretty good with the body kit.

Yeah that was my solution. I noticed that dirt came through the outdoor cover over time and would leave lines on my car also. A friend of mine has the same problem with the exact same cover for his FD. Our solution was to get and indoor cover to go under it. This solution works perfect!

I've got the Mazda "lightweight" cover that's grey -- no body would ever mistake it for blue. Otherwise it's very similar, lic. plate window and all.

slightly off topic.... but im going to be using a 99 spec front and 99 spec wing... i was wondering if anyone has dealt with trying to use a car cover w/ the 99 spec stuff? i suppose one could be imported from mazda japan....

Yes, that's the one. :)

Im w/ Insane Gideon - thats the cover I have.

My neigbor actually sewed TRASH BAGS onto the cover of their Mercedes S320 to keep the rain off the roof.

I should have her do the same to mine (that way the grey flannel cover wont transpose all the dirt it captures to my cars paint in the rain!)

I'll post a pic if I can - its HILARIOUS.
