car boosting to 15psi

I only have DP and PFC w/ base maps installed.

I've only seen it, so far, in 3rd and 5th gear. Not even WOT. why cruising and giving it maybe 3/4 throttle, I will see the boost peak and stay at 15psi. How dangerous is this?

No good, 15 is too much for your stock ic and you also are most likely maxing out your injectors.

For a quick fix, just install the home depot boost controller until you purchase a better one.

Adjust the PFC boost settings. I would also make sure that the line from the primary turbo to the wastegate (4-5" long) is still firmly connected at both ends.

I have datalogit, I make these changes at Settings 1 tab? what should my numbers be?

Thats alot of boost for the stockers, I would bet what was previously stated, check your vaccuum hose that runs to the wastegate. If you lose that hose you will run about 15 psi.

kevinvr6 05-02-04 04:31 PM

could that hose also be the problem to:

heavy throttle in first, boost
switch to second
0-1psi boost
switch to third
0-1psi boost

?

Just curious, but what is the max psi is it safe to boost the stock turbo, given you have a larger front mount intercooler and big injectors?

RxSeven1 05-02-04 10:06 PM

dont know about safe, but i have heard of 18psi, and i know that motor is dead now.

I feel for you. I had some funky boost recently too. My mechanic wound up replumbing my vac lines a few times till I wound up simplified sequential. Now I get good boost in all gears, but am having a problem controlling it. I'm doing a boost controller this week and checking the turbo control actuator solenoid.

Not sure about the hose...
