Car bogs under full throttle.
I recently changed all my vac hoses with the hose technique kit and everything went fine, car was running great for a bit under full throttle then after an hour of driving it (nicely) I decided to run the boost test, while in third I pushed down the gas petal and at around 3k RPM the car started to bog bad and exhaust sputtered. I tried searching and didn't really find a solid answer, can any of you guys help me out here? thanks
I was thinking maybe one of the lines popped off but I just want to see if it is something else before I take it apart to find it is something else. Also sometimes my dash/DRLs/gauges don't turn on while I am starting the car, they turn on after like 5 minutes of driving. Thanks, K.T |
im having similar problems with my car. Its a new engine with 2k miles on it. it started doing that about 100 miles ago. I changed the spark plugs hoping that was the problem but it kep doing it so then i changed out the ignition coils and im still having the problem. as soon as i hit the gas the car bogs down and backfires. the car is 90% tunes on a dyno but we couldnt get the WOT tune done because of the bog under solid loading. anyone have any other ideas?

Im having a similar problem. Pulls good at higher rpm but at 3000rpm with hard throttle it hesitates bad.
I tried plugs, ignition module, and map sensor. nothing helped. |
sounds like the 3k hesitation issue. alot of the time its caused by a bad ground to your car, or your tps not being tuned. but those are not known to completely get rid of the hesitation. just lessen it. in alot of the forums guys say its the ecu. and that when they bought and installed the power fc unit it got rid of the hesitation completely. look up 3000 rpm hesitation. and for your gauges maybe check out the connections and or harnesses for them on them? and i know u dont have a cel but pull the ecu codes with the jdm mod for a cel. maybe something will come out from that, that could help you out.

Check out your grounds as stated above... I have the same problem and fixing a loose ground did help it.

|

To the OP, are you getting boost on the primary turbo before it starts to "sputter"?
|
i had a similar problem with spuddering issues, Had a Reman Motor and about 3k miles later it started to spudder couldnt figure out the problem for a while had a feeling it was dp issues or fuel filter. After fully warmed up it will spudder and iddle alittle lower and shake, would spudder to around 2500 rpm then it would be alittle better. Then i got really lucky after a bad night of poker i went to a local starbucks and another fd same color as mine parked next to me and started taking pictures. so i went to say whats up and explained my problem. After chatting it up He told me to try pre mixing synthetic 2-cycle racing oil with the fuel about 8 oz a full tank. I was like whatever after shops telling me i needed a rebuilt i was like what the hell do i have to loose. He pulls out amsoil Dominator Synthetic 2-cycle Racing Oil poured some in my fuel tank fill up and i drove around like 10 minuts non stop and came to a light and the spudder was gone. Felt like too good to be true but drove longer and it still didnt spudder. ive bin using it every other fill up and my car has bin running better since.

What ecu are you running?

There's a slight chance its the TPS. After a did a fuel system rebuild, it drove around nice under part throttle. Idled nice too. But as soon as I pushed the gas pedal too far, it was like almost all fuel was cutoff. Readjusting the TPS fixed it.
