CantGoStraight Polished Parts Arrive: Bling Bling
 

During the winter months here in Minnesota, we have a nice 5 month off season which is filled with salt filled roads. This provides us with ample time to complete projects such shipping off our parts to CantGoStraight for polish work. :noyes:

I decided that I wanted to go all out, and pair my new engine from Rotary Resurrection with all of the appropriate bling in the engine bay. I had the following parts polished:

1) UIM/T.B.
2) LIM
3) Elbow
4) Intake Piping
5) Water Pump Housing
6) Coolant Filler Neck
7) Water Pump
8) Turbo Compressor
9) Alternator (Not pictured, but looks incredible)

In person, the parts look incredible. I would recommend this service to anybody who is interested in polishing. It's amazing what these stock parts can look like with a little love.

Jack is very good to work with, and communicates very well. The shipping was also excellent. He goes out of his way to make sure things are done right, and that you are satisfied with the polishing. :icon_tup:

I too got some work done by Jack (cantgostraight) and I don't know about his screen name but they did me so straight. I also got my UIM, ALT, and TB done and I can't say enough about the whole situation, great turnaround, great polishing and super nice guy. Also the pics do no justification as to how nice these look in person. :icon_tup: This pic has my smudges all over it and still looks awesome.:)

Damn man those do look good. Whats he charge? I have a handful of parts I am waiting to polish...

he's really reasonable and as you can see the polishing is second to none...just pm him and list the parts and he will send you a quote.

Nice, can't wait till I get my polished alternator from him. ;)

He does do awesome work!!! I know first hand because my TB and thremo housing are beautiful now thanks to Jack.

I started polishing my own uim and TB... and it suxors.. maybe I need a real dremel and not an el cheapo....

Can someone shed some light on the method/materials used to polish these things? Do you think the same technique would work for what used to look like a stainless steel exhaust section (e.g. an M2 muffler)?

Got the alternator yesterday and took it to work to break the nut loose from the pulley (should have opened the box and looked at it before dragging it in as there wasn't a pulley to break the nut loose from. I'll pm you with what I found inside. Jack
will swap the parts out on Wednesday and get it out to you that day. I'll PM you with the paypal addy and final damages (-:

LOL James charges more to fix someones attempt than he does for a virgin casting. It can sometimes take longer and much more work to get out the grooves and divits left by someone that's not familliar with the process (I know because he bailed me out of my attempt at the Y-pipe. ) I couldn't stand the little air bubble holes that sometimes pop up when your cutting down the casting and in the process of trying to find the bottom ot the hole it made a nice little valley that had to be leveled over a much larger area. Everytime I think i want to do this I get a part that kicks my butt. Talk about dirty, nasty and time consumming.....it's so very much like body work and best left to those that like to do it. And that's my $.02

Thanks to you too ! ! ! It's a real pleasure to have those parts on your work (you've put together some really sweet cars). I can't wait to get the turbo compressor housing flow tested to see if polishing the inside will give me better number than the Pettit high flows.

Ben while I'm thinking about it your thermostat housing filler neck doesn't have an O-ring. It was originally sealed with silicone and I cleaned all that out before sending it to James. Thanks again for the Kudo's James will love this thread ! ! !

Okay since I have a run on this thread I've got to post my Efini Y-pipe that I finally got put in. One last thing to polish (see if you can spot it ! ! !

Yep that's it. The set of turbo's I've got to put in will have the compressor housings polished so that's it till the motor has to come out. Guess I'll start on the suspension ! ! ! I bet we've polished 2lb's off the car so far. LOL

Jack - you knew I was reading this thread last night and today and keeping quiet!!! After looking at all of Rotary4tw's stuff now I know why mine is taking a little time :)
I have no doubt that everything will look great and it'll be here soon.
I agree with everyone's comments here - this stuff has to be seen to be believed. It's worth every penny if you are considering sending stuff to Jack and James.
