Can you find Silicone Hose locally?

For short replacements, does any chain carry the 3.5mm silicone hose?

I asked at Advance Autoparts and they didn't know what I was asking about.

I know Hose Techniques and others can be ordered but just wondering if any local type vendors carry it.

thanks

Autozone has it but the quality is crap.

For a short-term fix just get the regular rubber tubing. Then order some of the good stuff.

If you have a rice/performance shop locally, they will carry something decent. NAPA and Autozones will carry tubing but as dgeesaman mentioned, it's terrible. I typically just order a bunch from Baker Precision to make sure I have extra laying around.

Quoted for Truth. I was surprised once last summer when I went in to a local performance shop that caters to the drag racing crowd who drive "real" cars (meaning to them...Ford and Chevy) and this shop had reels of silicon hose in various sizes that APPEARED to be of decent quality...wasn't the thin-walled squishy stuff you see at AUTOZONE.

I still prefer VITON or plain old 'stock' butyl rubber, personally.

Once you do get, say, the Hose Techniques kit for the rx7 you will have PLENTY left over after a complete hose job to have some laying around.

i had enough left over to re plumb my boost gauge through the firewall and i still have a bunch for whatever comes up.

doesnt really help you now but good to know

I found the same thing a little over a year ago here in t-town!! There are sever shops that cater to these big v-8 dragsters around here and I went in to purchase some fuel fittings and saw silicon hose. I picked some up and it was a good quality hose. Very thick. It has held up wonderfully.
