Does the s4 have a pull type clutch ? The 3rd gen does .Read the writting on the bottom inspection cover . Check the release fork . It does look like a 3rd gen .

n_g23 03-18-04 03:19 AM

looks like one to me

jspecracer7 03-18-04 03:31 AM

does the tranny have 4 large bolts sticking out the bottom of it for where the power plant frame attaches? If it does, then yes it's a 3rd gen tranny.

clayne 03-18-04 03:51 AM

Definitely looks FD to me.

BTW: Anyone know the trans code for an FD trans? FC trans, etc?

HeatTreated 03-18-04 09:50 AM

I 3rd that. Defintely FD.. Even has the same writing on the 2nd tranny cover.

RxSeven1 03-18-04 10:13 AM

just curious but do most fd parts have FD01 written on them somewhere?

squagles 03-18-04 12:43 PM

..

so would anyone buy this from me on this site?

thanks for the info.

P'cola FD 03-18-04 12:50 PM

Thank You.

I can get more pics if needed.

DCrosby 03-18-04 07:44 PM

All depends, if it's a '93 Tranny the syncros could be mush, and there's a lot of possible damage... there's no way to know unless you mount it to something, plus it's missing the starter motor...

MakoRacing 03-18-04 08:07 PM

Its an FD tranny!

if my memory serves me correct, i remember seeing fb on my tranny.

SBi_Owner 03-18-04 11:44 PM

All mounting bolts and setup looks like the FD.

jimlab 03-19-04 12:47 AM

If it's not an FD 5-speed, it's as close as it gets...

i havnt used it on a car

i havnt used it on a car but it is supposidly a low k's J SPEC, and from just moving the shifter dry it feels really sharp and crisp. Better than the tranny on my car that i toulk out.

im looking to sell it so if anyone is interested shoot me an offer

SpoolinRX 03-19-04 12:49 AM

squagles 03-19-04 02:42 PM

ttt 500 obo

ttt

jimlab 03-19-04 05:41 PM

A. You'd have better luck in the 3rd gen. For Sale forum.

B. I sold my pristine 13k mile 5-speed (not the one shown above, which came out of a ~60k mile R1) for $500. Of course, I sold the one in the picture for $500 also, but it came out of a strong running car and had no problems.

Just between you and me, your asking price is a bit high for something that looks like it was found at the bottom of a swamp, dropped down a few flights of stairs, and where there is no information about it's mileage or internal condition.

squagles 03-20-04 12:48 AM

umm.

it dirty and how would anyone know about internals.

ill make some shit up if you want.

Gold plated tranny internals
never been used
adds 10 hp
paint it red to recive 10 more hp

anyways ill clean it up tonight and put better pics up.

it camre out of a low k's JSPEC motor so really know one knows what its like but it is in decent shape.

i didnt say i wanted 500 i said negotiable.
