Can someone identify this exhaust (early 2000s)?

The car I purchased has a very nicely built catback that was put on in the late 90s or early 2000s. Years ago I owned both M2 duals and the 2nd version of the Racing Beat duals. I suspect this is a 1st version of the Racing Beat duals, as the piping construction looks very similar to the Racing Beat exhaust I had, although this one does not have the tip-in-tip with RB logo (the looks of which I never cared for). Can any old-school member recognize this? Obviously, the car was tuned stupidy rich for the last few hundred miles.

I do think it's an older Racing Beat cat-back. RB is one of the only manufacturers that has the flange in the middle between the muffler box and the pipe going to the cat. It adds some weight but makes it MUCH easier and cheaper to ship.

There have been MANY versions of that cat-back over the years FYI. Also, it uses the stock 2-bolt muffler hanger on the back passenger side, again RB is one of the few that did that.

Thanks for that Dale. Someone else I know personally also confirmed it as an old RB. I did not know that there were more than two versions of this exhaust. I bought my RB duals in late 2002, and the design has not changed as far as I can tell since then. This would mean that all other RB versions are quite old.

I've seen a number of variations, some with painted steel piping, some all stainless, some with their logo stamped into the bottom of the can, different logos on the tips, you name it. They've been making that exhaust for AGES and I think they change the design occasionally due to manufacturing.

Yes, good call. I forgot that some of the cans did have the stamped logo. This particular exhaust has less than 4k miles on it, and I am going to post it up for sale in the classifieds.
