Can I fix my antenna by putting grease on it?

My FD's antenna won't go down unless i help it.. Like running out of the car while the mechanism is going. Is there another way for me to fix it or do I have to repace the motor?

I cleaned mine with WD40 to get all the dirt out. Then went one time over to get a good film of lubricant on it. Works fine now

It is not the motor, it is the cheap butt plastic that they use for the antenna mast. Take the antenna out and regrease the inside, it will work like a charm.

Sometimes the plastic thing in the mast breaks or strips, too. A new mast will fix it if that turns out to be the problem. You might have to disassemble the antenna motor unit to get the old plastic thingy out if part of it is broken off in there, though. I had to do that on mine.
