Camera Mount
 

I purchased this camera mount :

for my FD to attach my camcorder to for track days. It attaches nicely to the rear strut bar. You need to attach so it runs parallel to the street (like the photo on the right) so it allows for enough room to attach the camcorder without the rear hatch window getting in the way. I don’t think there would be enough room still for large camcorders – would require a DV camcorder. Thought I would share my find, I had been looking for a solution for a while.

I would be concerned that that mount was not designed for in-car mounting. The I-O Port Racing mount I have is accepted by the SCCA for racing. That will probably work fine though -- although usually the camera mounts eat into your rear strut bar, I bought another strut bar to switch out.

BTW, you should very definitely run a safety strap around the camcorder in case the mount fails.
