A/C intermittent compressor ???

Anyone have any ideas....

If I have the fan on 1 or 2... the compressor remains engaged... and the air is plenty cold.

If switch the fan up 3 or 4 the compressor will ususally disengage... and i get that nice warm humid air coming in the car... then re-engage a few minutes later...then off...on..off...on... curly straight curly straight for all you simpsons fans

It seems to be that if i turn off recirculate... that the compressor will remain engaged longer but i could be making that part up... i'm not really sure.....

I have had that part of the dash apart before...but don't know if this problem started at the same time... is it possible that i could have pinched a wire in there or something... causing an occasional short if the voltage is high enough with the fan on ??

or is this some other 3rd gen quirk ???

or is it likely something else all together ?

thanks in advance

hey, I have the same exact problem, the air gets all humid and shit, but it takes longer when recirculate is not on.

I talked to Dave @ KD rotary when I was there, and he told me there is a black box right above the glove box. if you open the glove box and look up, you should see it. anyhow, he told me to take off the black plastic covering and there should be a screw with an H or a C on either side. he said to just mess with that screw untill it works right, but be careful, he said there is high voltage goint through it.

the problem seems to be that something (maybe vibration) seems to make this thing go on crack, after which it thinks the condenser is too cold, even when its obviously not. I havent had the time to try it yet, but let me know if it works.
