a/c condensor
question guys im about to hook up an a/c condensor in my fd and i was wondering if a 94 will fit for a 93. thanks in advance.
|
if not I've got a 93 to sell if you want it
|
How much? Do you have the lines and the dryer also?
Thanks! |
As long as it's an R1(2) (or a base with a black receiver/dryer) it should work.
|
yeah mine is an r1 and the condensor came of a 94 base
|
the a/c system is a 93 with just a 94 condensor i was told the pressure fittings are diffrent but will that maetter will it still work.

After rereading my post, it might be a little vague.
Between 93 and 94 models there were two systems, factory installed and port installed. The parts are almost identical except the thread sizes are very slightly different so they aren't interchangeable. The factory installed is found on tourings and recognizable by a silver dryer. That's the can shaped thing near the driver's headlight. The port installed system is found on the base and R models. This one has a black dryer. As far as I'm aware, the respective systems are the same on 93' and 94's. 95's went to R-134 so I'm not aware of the differences there. So basically, If you have a black dryer (like you should), as long as you take the condensor from another car with the black dryer, it should work. hope that helps. |
alright thanks man i just got everythjing hooked up im about to go get it charged up i appreciate your help

the 94 R134 system is NOT the same fitting as the 93 R12. u cannot swap the compressor or the condenser due to the fittings being larger on the R134a. there is also a canadian model AC that is not interchangeable if your car was brought in from canada.

i wnet buy the a/c place today and the guy said it would work i just need to get some new o-rings
|
Has your system been converted to R134a? I've seen a lot of 93s that have.
The o-rings have to be compatible with the refrigerant in the system. You can't use o-rings from an R12 system in an R134a system, but I'm not sure about the other way around... |
yeah i went and ordered some from advanced today
|
well guys i just go the a/c charged up and it runs cold and i love it. so i guess the 94 condensor does work with a 93 system

I have a 94 and the dryer is black and it is an R-12 system. by the way it's 134a not r134 and most if not all 94's are r-12 |
To get it charged was fairly cheap compared to most cars to only took 1 and 1/2 cans of freon and it was $123. Im just glad I wasnt the van in front of me his was $250. lol
