Bryan at BNR had industrial accident!!

Hi folks,

Bryan called me today just after he was released from the hospital. He had an accident in his shop last week in which there was a minor explosion which resulted in 2nd degree burns. He wanted to let folks know that orders will be delayed. Well-wishers can email him at BNRsupercars@yahoo.net.

That sucks but I'm glad he's going to be okay. Do you have anymore details on what happened or how much of him was burned? Thoughts and prayers.

silverTRD 05-01-07 12:28 AM

wow that sux. as long as he is ok, the orders can wait. and im not just saying that because i dont have an order in, hehe. but seriously hope all is well

SPOautos 05-01-07 12:59 AM

As a close friend I will let you guys know what happened so there arent any rumors or anything that spread.

Bryan uses a high temp paint that he paints on turbine housings of certain turbos then he uses a hand held torch to cure it. The housing hangs on a hook for this process, after painting he sat the can down, the housing fell off the hook, hit the can and punctured it, at which point it was ignited from the torch and exploded. He has 2nd degree burns on both arms, hands, neck, face....31% of body I believe was the doctors determination. If you dont know anything about 2nd degree burns, in terms of pain they are the worst. They require the same scrub treatment as 3rd degree but you still have all the nerves in the skin which makes the treatment MUCH more painfill than 3rd degree. It is beyond painfull when they scrub your burns every couple days.

He is going to have some delay, however hopefully not too bad. As soon as we can get him out of the house we are taking him to the shop so he can sit there and tell me what to do so we can get his orders filled. Im basically going to be his hands untill he can get back to using them. If you have a order placed, dont freak out just send Bryan a email at BNRsupercars@yahoo.com and he will give updates. He will probably start checking the email and giving updates in a week or so. *If you need to place an order go a head and do it so that he doesnt loose business over this situation, your order will get filled*

Thanks for the concen guys! He really appreciates it,
Stephen

Man, that's like some "Final Destination" shit right there.

Hope he recovers as quickly as possible. Being burnt isn't that painful in alot of cases because it happens so quickly....it's recovering that sucks.

GoRacer 05-01-07 06:17 PM

Wow, that really sucks! I hope he recovers well. If they don't offer it, there is some stuff for burns made with silver. I don't remember the name but it worked wonders for my road rash when I went down on my GSXR.

Thomas1277 05-01-07 06:53 PM

I don’t know Bryan very well but the times I talked with him on the phone he was a great person and very knowledgeable. Best wishes to a great guy.

SavannaAE 05-02-07 12:48 AM

Damn that.

Bryan is a good guy. He gave me a good 2 hrs of phone tech support when I bought my stage 2 from him. I was young and dumb, and he was patient.

Best of luck my friend.

Jturbo 05-02-07 01:00 AM

Same thing here. When I bought my stage one he sat on the phone for a good 45 minutes going over my fueling and intercooler options while offering alot of personal experience. Good luck Bryan!

wptrx7 05-02-07 07:28 AM

My best wishes to a speedy recovery.

all the best man!!!!! You need to get well so yall can come visit us in New Orleans!

Bryan@BNR 05-04-07 07:26 PM

Hey all.

Thanks for your support. I went through a lot of pain and I am still not out of the hole just yet. I get a bit more movement and flexibility everyday and some parts of my face are clearing up quickly. Bandage changes are terrible. The ones at the hospital were unbearable. The only thing on your mind when you get burned bad is the pain. It is horrible and no word describes it. So the next time you are painting, keep in mind that can in your hand can ignite and mess you up. :D.

Take it easy.

Bryan@BNR

Bryan@BNR 05-04-07 07:34 PM

in my case it was the can sitting on the shelf that exploded.

sevensix 05-04-07 07:35 PM

If they haven't offered it yet, ask for the stuff that is made with silver. Sorry, I don't remeber what it's called but it helped alot with my road rash when I went down. I feel for ya. I know what the pain is like, especially when they used a brillow pad to scrub out the gravel from inside my arm. Allthough, the real pain didn't kick in untill severl hours later. Good luck and hope you recover well!

alexdimen 05-04-07 09:32 PM

Good luck with your recovery. Working in a shop, there is always the chance of injury and I'm glad to hear that yours is not permanent.

Compilez 05-05-07 11:19 AM

Unfortunate things do happen to the good people. I spoke with Bryan for the first time on the phone last week. GREAT guy! Was able to supply me with gaskets that I was having trouble to find. Still haven't received them yet, but I now know why I may not have gotten them yet. Take your time Bryan, no rush. Just get better as soon as you can. I Hope the best of recovery for you!
