Broken Diff Mount

Has anyone ever experienced a differential mount (the oem one) that snapped in half?

I need a new one ASAP, but the OEM one is $514, and it happened while trying to get the stock bushings out to replace with powerflex. Anywho, i dont really care to spend $514 and end up with brand new stock bushings that im gonna destroy to get out.

Anyone know of an aftermarket alternative?

Anyone have a stock one laying about?

Fritz to the rescue once again, I think!

So the new one will be here from Fritz, today.

I decided to press out the bushings on the old one, and got it out, but there seems to be a ring, or sharp lip, and i'm wondering if there is a metal sleeve i have to get out too.

does more come out of the carrier mount than this:

So, with the help of Defined Autoworks, I found out that I did not initially press out the bushings sleeves, just the internals. Thats why you see the ring/lip. So I went and got a 1 and 11/16 socket from northern tool, and attempted again.

The new diff mount fritz sent was in much better shape. The whole bushing came out, and i was able to press in the powerflex bushings.

I had to get creative, as none of the arbors that came with my press worked, so i tacked one up:

pressed the bushings out with ease:

and pressed in the new bushings:

headed out to reinstall it.

WTF? You did not clean it up and repaint it shiny black like new!
Where is your pride in ownership?

You know, I had the same reaction when I set the car on the ground...

"Dang, I should have repainted it." I did repaint the arms that attach to the subframe and body.

The new one was in much better shape than the one i pulled out of the car though.
