breaking in turbos?

is there a break-in period for turbos like there are for engines? i am getting mine rebuilt and i want to know if i need to do anything special

Just prime them with oil before starting the engine. ( Crank the engine without starting it) I would take it easy on them for a few miles at least to see if there are any leaks or odd things happening. Also ask the shop that is rebuilding them for there warranty policy.( If they require break-in time etc..)

I agree. Drive the car for a few minutes to make sure there aren't any leaks (warm up time anyway) and then put the hammer down!

turbojeff...I always love your insight :D

So, quick and painless question here, how are BNRs stock rebuild units. That is my next purchase here in a couple weeks. And I will actually have 2 cores, think they would take both for a reduction in cost?

I haven't ever dealt with BNRs. Everything I read sounds good though. What's up with the two sets of turbos? If only one turbo is bad on each set you can bolt together a good set you know.
